As you can see from this first
picture the tube extended past the end cap by about 1/8th of an inch, so
the first thing that I had to do was peel the tube down to get a closer
match. In the second picture you can see the nice match after peeling and putting a layer of "glass" on the tube.

I used a jig (thank you Steve W.) to cut evenly
spaced and straight slots, the fins were then tacked on using 5 min epoxy.

Interior fillets were reinforced with glass
micro fibers.

The fins were then given a tip to tip layer of
fiberglass. |

Then it was off to get a coat of primer and Bondo spot
putty to fill in all the little pinholes in the fiberglass. |

After a final coat primer, I added a Slimline
Bell-Shaped Nozzle Retainer for and extra bit of coolness.
